Read/Listen to The 4 Hour Work Week
The total concept of the book is great and immediately stood out as something to check out. Who would not want a four-hour work week? Most of the beginning of the book is time management and understanding your productivity to become the New Rich. The idea isn’t to work harder, but instead begin to remove or automate work or segments of your life that are nonessential. Once you learn to say no to the nonessential, it allows you to focus on what really matters.
After that, begin to schedule mini-retirements through life. There are a lot of “sail around the world” stories. At this point, the language is a bit limited into the “how”. It says to look inwards to develop what you dream about. What am I scared of? Why do I work this job? What is it going to cost me to live within my means?
This book picks up well from chapters 8-10. These were the ones I spent the most time thinking about. I know that I will return to this section because of all the sites and resources.
Chapter 8 Outsourcing Life- get a virtual assistant to help your small business. If you can clear the funds needed to free up your time. Try to. I struggled a bit at why would this be helpful. But my misstep is that I don’t have a list and assumed that only I can hold the knife. No one can do it all, and it’s best to convince others to do your work. I liked the idea that if I get an overseas person to operate while I sleep. I can me productive all hours of the day.
Chapter 9-11. Income Autopilot 1-3. These three chapters focus on private labels and other passive income that can happen around the clock. There is a lot of details to inspire direction and confidence to start. Keep in mind, you don’t want to do it all at once. It’s a few calculated steps, patience, and determination to want to learn.
After that it gets difficult again. It goes into finding full remote work or how to trick your boss into allowing it. What to propose to get remote, and how to exploit it in your favor. All and all, if you see an entrepreneur uptick in your decisions, this is a great start. It should help to bridge a knowledge gap and start to promote the importance of living your best life.
