Why you should listen to Sapiens

For one, this a long book to read. I choose to do this one as an audiobook and it’s perfect. The voice work immediately reminded me of film version of “Hitchiker’s’ Guide To The Galaxy”. So imagine the narrator of “Hitchiker’s Guide” completed the full section about the history for humanity to aliens. It’s the full walkthrough of who, what where, when, and how humans became apex predators then intellectuals then what may become of our evaluation. How did develop culture and religion, ownership, basically all the things about homo sapiens are here. The book can be quite revealing of who you are and why you do certain things.

My favorite thought from this book is there is a plant that is so smart, it domesticated homo sapiens. The plant is wheat. It’s not the easiest to grow as the ground needs to be picked clean of rocks and the dirt needed to be cared for intensely. It has to be processed in order to use. It even created some of the first land plots. We started to own land to say things like “my wheat”. It’s super weird to think about after all the things that we were able to change in the world, we would serve wheat.
