Why you should read The Goal by Eliyahu Goldratt

Over the years, I’ve actually read this one several times. Originally, this book was what I was looking for when I started listening to audiobooks. It’s a great narrative of a man struggle to keep everything afloat and ends up learning this best life lesson from a kid named, Herbie. I really life the story a lot. Enough to add it to a site online where is less than a 1% chance someone will read it. (thanks though)

The author Eli Goldratt is an easy read with a lot of heart (for a business story).

There is a heavy focus on manufacturing. It’s not bad, but you’ll see some college level business moments. Then again.  I read this in college, as part of a management course.

The grandest advancement of manufacturing is hindered by the speed of its slowest machine. Think about if like you are only as strong as the weakest link… But it’s speed, or quality, or safety etc.

You should read this if:

·         You have manufacturing in your background/want to conceptually see the process detail

·         You are trying to organize a few things in life (this is not the end all of self-help, but it kind of did help.

·         Considering or attending a business school of any level.
