Why you should read The Power of Habits

This is the best starter book (honestly I did the audiobook from the Franklin Park Library) to understand you are capable of changing yourself however you see fit. It helped me ask the question, “Why do I do that?”

Sounds like plenty of psychology books people thumb through and find a way to blame something/someone else. But instead of blame, it’s reasonable accountability and mental conditioning. So here is my point.

There is a story early on about a man who literally lost his mind. An infection “Memento-ed” him for the rest of his life. His brain no longer had the physical space to create memories. Even in this. He walked out of his home one day and returned the to correct house, unassisted. There is a powerful element of our brain that can learn even when nothing can be remembered. It’s in our daily habits we choose who we are. It was fun to think about.
