Why you should read Atomic Habits
I completed this after “Power of Habits”. I was enthralled by the stories there and then heard a recommendation to this book. It’s borderline perfect. The message is clear and easy to understand and then implement to daily life. It’s a great guide to made big changes to your life with manageable steps. We don’t change overnight, but if we strive to get 1% better every day, we can 37.78 times better at year end. There you don’t have to succeed everyday but you can better yourself to your expectations of self.
The simple idea is we experience a reoccurring cue of some form. This cue develops a craving in our brains, like something we can’t stop thinking about. This craving leads us to a response (either good or bad) to calm the craving, then we feel the reward of the response.
