Croque Madame

Calories 500/Protein 52g/Carbs 32g/Fat 20g (per serving)

Ingredients

  • French Toast

    • slices of bread (I use 35 calorie bread from Aldi—> Fit & Active)

    • 85g egg whites (enough to soak the bread)

    • 1/2 scoop Casein or blended Vanilla Protein Powder

    • 5g Vanilla Extract

    • 5 g cinnamon

    • 2g nutmeg

    • 1 pinch salt

  • 1 tsp Mustard or 1 tsp of Low Calorie Strawberry Jam (this was not counted in the 500cals)

  • 3 slices of Deli Ham

  • 1 Egg

  • 1/2-1oz Monterey Jack (or gruyere. This cheese would be higher in calorie too)

Instructions

  1. Mix the French Toast ingredients and do French Toast work.

  2. Remove from the pan and sear the ham for a few moments

  3. Add Cheese to French toast (leave it open-faced)

  4. Once the Ham browns tuck into the cheese

  5. Add Mustard (optional) or Strawberry jam (extra calories but if it fits?)

  6. close the sandwich

  7. Top sandwich with extra cheese (plus cheese sauces of choice)

  8. Cook the egg (sunny side or over easy or over medium)

  9. Top egg with salt and pepper!

  10. Serve it up!
